Hernia occur when a fatty tissue or an organ pushes through an opening in a muscle or tissue that holds it in place. Commonly hernia will occur in abdomen in some cases it will occur in upper thigh, belly button and groin areas.

- Inguinal Hernia: The inguinal canal is found in your groin region.In men, it is the area where the spermatic cord passes from the abdomen to the scrotum. In women groin region is contain with many ligaments which helps to hold uterus. ??This type of hernia is common in men than women.
- Hiatal Hernia: In this type of hernia any part of your stomach will protrudes through diaphragm into your chest. Hiatal hernia will occur mostly after 50 years old. In child it is caused by birth defect.
- Umbilical Hernia: There is more chance to occur this type of hernia in children and babies under 6 months old. This happens when their intestine bulge through their abdominal wall near their belly button.
- Incisional Hernia : Incisional hernia will occur only after an abdominal surgery. Intestine may push through the incision scar or the surroundings.
Combination of muscle, weakness and strain are the main cause of hernia. Chronic coughing, age, injury or surgery are the other common causes of hernia. Bulging of affected area is the main symptom of Hernia. If your baby have hernia you can identify it only when he or she is crying. Pain or discomfort in the affected area especially when bending over, coughing, or lifting are the main symptom of Inguinal Hernia.
